The road of death

(see the anecdote about Bolivia) The road from La Paz to Coroico won this precious name from a western or a Tarantino’s movie because of the steep precipices bordering the road and its degree of dangerousness; narrow and sinuous, the annual rains often make the access difficult. This speedy descent allows to enjoy the progressive change of vegetation; from the high peaks of the Andes, you slowly go to the vegetation of the high jungle, with coffee plantations and exotic fruits. A true immersion into the heart of Yungas’ valleys! But lucky for you (and for us), a new road has been built in order to make the connection easier with Coroico. The road of death is still open to adventurers who would like, from their mountain bikes, to join the low valleys by brushing the abyss at each turn.
