Sajama National Park

This border region with Chile has nothing to envy to the famous Lipez desert. Around the village of Sajama and the volcano of the same name, the National Park of Sajama encompasses a desert ecosystem worthy of interest. Typical of the Andes Cordillera, snowy peaks, lagoons, rare vegetation and herds of wild vicuñas make up this area, which is still little frequented and therefore more isolated, more authentic than the great tourist circuits. Connections with Chile are quite possible: it is possible to complete the visit of the Sajama Park with the visit of the Lauca Park, on the Chilean side, and thus offer a discovery of the Andes totally off the beaten track.
