Jatun Yampara

This small community, located on the road between Sucre and Tarabuco, is one of the oldest of the continent and lives almost exclusively thanks to earth’s resources. But, from recently, several families have gathered in order to open themselves to tourism. So it is possible today to discover the daily life in the Bolivian campaigns, their occupations in the fields and also their way of life, their pre-Hispanic culture, their traditional clothes, and houses as well as tissue’s and ceramic’s fabrication of the Yampara culture. There even is a community museum of traditional clothes and workshops where it is possible to observe the transformation process of wool into precious tissues with complex patterns and colors. There also are some interesting archaeologic sites surrounding the town, so as an exhibition of traditional medicinal herbs.
