The Inca walls and the twelve-angled stone

In all the city center of Cusco, most of the houses foundations are from the Inca period. Those walls that are  made with very big stones, and clamped the one in the others in a remarkable way, are often decorated with sculptures like bodies or snakes’ heads, or also protuberances that are emerging from the stones. The most beautiful example and the best preserved is in Hatunrumiyoc Street, just behind the cathedral: this is the famous twelve-angled stone. It is perfectly integrated to all the other stones that are surrounding it,  without allowing any centimeter at any point: this architectural technic is  very impressive.
