Museum Costumbrista Juan de Vargas

The Museo Costumbrista (museum of habits) of La Paz, has been created with the intention of showing the history and traditions of the society present in this city. This is a Pinacoteca presenting masterpieces with historic thematic in relation with customs, habits, and traditions of La Paz’s societies, from the past and the present. You could see a small sculpture of La Paz’s foundation, historic facts as the drawing-and-quartering of Tupac Katari or the hanging of Pedro Domingo Murillo, as well as a classic of football and important characters from the 16th to the 20th century, presented in windows. Opening hours: From Tuesday to Friday, from 9 am to 12.30pm and 3 pm to 7 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 am to 1 pm.
