Convent/Museum of Santa Teresa

Visiting Santa Teresa is twofold interesting, as for the edifice in itself, recently restored, as for its wonderful religious pieces of art. Built in 1692, a Carmelite Order lives here. If today, only about 10 persons are still living here, it was used at the construction’s period to see young girls of 15 or 16 years old, coming from good families, paying massive bride-prices to come into and never get out. Thanks to the richness of the place, it was possible to call the best painters in the region. This is why there is an amazing collection of Sacred Art in all the convent. The visit lasts 2 hours and we come back impressed. Opening hours: On Mondays and from Wednesday to Saturday, from 9 am to 12.30pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm. On Tuesday, Sunday and Days-off; from 3 pm to 6 pm.
