Viejo San Antonio

According to the 19th centuries’ archives, close to 150 000 people were living here to use the silver mine. Legend tells that inhabitants made a deal with the devil in order to maintain forever richness of the ground. By not respecting the deal, the inhabitant knew a very bad end, the silver mine has now disappeared. Ghosts’ stories or strange events propagated in the city, this explains why inhabitants decided to leave San Antonio de Lipez. Today, you can see ruins testifying a period of wealth, the small village lost in the mountains is now deeply submerged by silence, with some wind gusts.
