Thunupa

From its 5430 meters above sea level, volcano Thunupa, with its powerful yellow colors, is another colored wonder of the South of Lipez. Several legends explain the Salar’s origin as beginning from this volcano: the Inca Atahualpa would have pierced a woman’s heart on the sides of the volcano, leading to a white flow: the Salar is born.
