Tambo Quirquincho Museum

Tambo’s space (an urban market where were sold products from the countryside such as coca leaves) had already been enhanced by Alonzo de Mendoza, founder of the city when he arrived, at the beginning used as the house of the Cacique Quirquincha. This is a very beautiful house dating from the beginning of the Republic (19th century) and today transformed into an interesting museum, with 12 rooms presenting diverse objects of history and evolution of the country, and particularly from the city of La Paz. The house is also a cultural center where cultural events are given such as theatre pieces, music concerts, itinerary exhibitions, etc… Opening hours: from Monday to Sunday, from 9 am to 6.30pm.
