Santiago de Chiquitos

One of the last Jesuit mission that has settled down in the region, Santiago de Chiquitos stayed very authentic in comparison with other villages, transformed for tourism. The bucolic surroundings, sweet climate and good quality of life contributed to give to this village the nickname of “sky antechamber” (just that…). More than 10 trekkings are available in the surroundings with the best one; a cave with rock art. The small church, restored three times, is worth to see for the objects the Jesuits left behind. But it is from May to April that this small village is more interesting to visit because it wakes up at the rhythm of the International American Festival of Baroque and Renaissance Music.
