San Javier

This is the oldest mission built in the region, in 1692. Martin Schmidt opened the first wood workshop and the first music school. The church’s design would be taken many times by other churches of the region; a mix of styles, between German Baroque with the wooden roof and the print of Chiquitos’ style, it is really admirable. Moreover, some hot springs in the surroundings of the city, waterfalls and swimming pools can be interesting for a half-day break.
