Samaipata

Samaipata village is the privileged place for all the good Cruceña society, because of its tranquility, its sweet climate and its nice edifices made in a colonial style. This also is a departure point for travelers in direction to Amazon. The result is some good restaurants and an activity at night that is important, mostly on weekends. And then, at some 10km from the city, declared as World Heritage since 1998, stands El Fuerte, Samaipata’s fortress. From the top of the hill, there is an amazing view on an accidental and volcanic area that gathers the top of the Andes to the Amazon basins. Some Pre-Inca ruins have been found and attract again and again history and mysticism lovers. Nobody knows exactly what functions these ruins had but the visit keeps surprising.
