Q'enqo

Behind the site of Sacsayhuaman and the White Christ that dominate the city, the site of Q’enko means “zig zag”. Its name comes from the tunnels, stairs and tanks dug in the big limestone rock, in form of zig zag; it probably has this shape to receive the blood or the chicha during the ritual ceremonies. At the top of this rock, it is possible to notice sculptures in low relief of pumas, lamas and condors. Underneath, there is a small cave that probably served as a ceremonial place.
