Salar of Uyuni represents a mass of convex salt, making water gathering on the edges of the desert, creating a mass of salt mixed with mud and water; it is really easy to bog down. This is the reason why it is not possible to enter to or leave the salted desert anywhere; inhabitants created ports with terraces in order to facilitate the access. Chuvica is an example of these artificial ports. This last one is located in the south of the Salar.
