Puente Mendéz

On the road between Uyuni and Potosi, stands one of the most impressive bridges of the country. Built during the second part of the 19th century, it spans the river Pilcomayo, delimitating the departments of Potosi and Sucre (whereas in reality, it is nearest to Sucre). This suspension bridge, Renaissance style, is encircled by 6 stone towers, including a viewpoint, from which the panorama on the river is splendid. Surroundings are at least as worth to admire; Altiplanic climate makes colors ochre and red shine on the land, climate of the valley keeps soft, it is an agricultural area where different traditions and cultures slowly developed themselves across the time.
