National Museum of ethnography and folklore (MUSEF)

The mission of the foundation of the Central Bank of Bolivia, benefactor of the museum, is to promote the problematic of “Live cultures of the country” in rural areas and urban centers because Bolivian society has some ethical specificities as well as regional and dialectic variations. Permanent rooms of the museum want to present a chronologic development about special thematic that is inherent to urban and rural people living in high and low lands of the country. Among the most important rooms, you will find the one dedicated to masks, in order to show the connection with vital necessities of Humans and communities, the numismatic room with a collection of coins and banknotes from the colonial era until nowadays and the room of feather and ceramic handicraft. Opening hours: from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 am to 12.30pm and from 3 pm to 7 pm. On Saturday, from 9 am to 4.30pm and on Sunday from 9 am to 12.30pm.
