Concepcion (Missional)

« Spearhead » of the expansionary adventure of the Company of Jesus, Concepcion town and its massive church are a perfect example. It concentrated all its efforts into restoration and the result is really worth to see. The pediment carried thanks to 121 wooden columns, has the print of Jesuit’s evangelizing missions. Inside, very kitsch and also very “baroque”, is a whole of delicate woodwork, educative and quite simple scenes and golden Virgin with cherubs. Outside the church, take the time to visit the luthier’s workshops and other woodshops, a specialty of the village.
