Atocha

This town is located at 3600 meters height and has particular importance since its creation because of the settlement of Spanish colonists who wanted to mine mineralogical abundance. At that time, it also was an important crossing point for caravans that were going to Argentina. Atocha received Antonio José de Sucre who, after his mandate as president of the Republic, left to the south where he has been killed. Today, Atocha has a big train station to connect Bolivia with Argentina. Its mining activity is also very important.
